The EU General Data Protection Regulation takes effect on May 25, 2018, and sets laws around what companies can do with your data.
Podia has always taken your privacy seriously. Our customers’ (and your customers’) data has never, and will never be sold to a third party.
What is GDPR?
For a complete overview of GDPR, check out this guide from the Information Commissioner’s Office.
The TL;DR version is that the GDPR:
- Lets people request a copy of all data that a business stores about them at no cost, and to have that data permanently deleted upon request.
- Requires companies to report data breaches when those breaches include personally identifying information.
- Doesn’t allow businesses to use data for actions that people didn’t explicitly consent to.
Note that these documents will be updated by May 25th.
