Do you have a customer requesting a refund? No worries! In this article we will teach you everything you need to know about refunding customer sales & invoices.

Refunding a product purchase

Step 1: Click on Sales in the top navigation.

Step 2: To open up a specific invoice, click the Invoice # in the first column on the left.

You can select invoices for individual product purchases or for individual payment plans.


Note: You can also access the specific invoice directly from the customer profile.


Step 3: Once inside your invoice, click on the Refund purchase button.

Step 4: Choose if you'd like this particular customer to retain access to the product or to be removed from the product after the refund. Once you're done, click on Refund purchase.


Refunding a payment plans/installments

For products that are set up with payment plans/installments you have the option to refund the entire purchase or just a specific installment.

To refund the entire order, simply follow the same steps as you would for a product purchase.

For a specific installment, these need to be refunded directly via Stripe.

Login to your Stripe account directly, search for your customer account and refund the specific installment from there.

Refunding community subscription plan invoices

Community subscription plan invoices need to be refunded directly via Stripe.

Login to your Stripe account directly, search for your customer and refund them from there.

Partial refunds

Partial refunds needs to be handled directly via Stripe/PayPal.

Login to your Stripe/PayPal account directly, search for your customer and refund them the order from there.

At this time, adjusting the refunded amount on Podia would not be possible, but we are working on it!


A note on purchases made through PayPal

At this time, refunds for purchases made with PayPal need to be handled through PayPal directly.

Once you've refunded the purchase via PayPal, simply click on Mark refunded here on Podia:
