Connect your Podia account

If you haven't connected your Podia account to Zapier, follow the steps on Connecting Podia to Zapier

Note: This Podia trigger is available on all Podia Plans. You can change your Podia Plan at anytime here.

Configure your Podia trigger in Zapier

To configure your new trigger, click on Make a Zap! in Zapier and select Podia as the trigger app.

You should have your Podia account connected and tested from the previous steps. Once you have confirmed that the account is successfully connected, select the New Membership Subscription trigger:

Make sure to test your trigger by getting sample data from Podia.

Once you confirm that the Podia trigger is functioning and you have the data you need,  you are ready to set up your Action for your Zap.

Configure your Action for the New Membership Subscription trigger

You can select over 1000s of integrations from Zapier to use the membership subscription data that is triggered from Podia. For this example, we will use the Podia trigger to send a personal Slack bot message.

To set up the integration, select Slack as the action app and select Send Direct Message as the Slack Action.

Make sure your Slack account is connected and verify by clicking on the Test button.

You can now edit the template to send a message to your Slack account. Select your Username from the dropdown and customize your Message Text with the template fields available from the sample data previously setup. Set the optional fields, if needed.

🗒 NOTE: Avoid using user fields such as first and last name as these aren't available at the time of this trigger. Only the user email is available with the details for the membership plan for version 1.4 and below.

Testing the new membership subscription Zap

To test your new Zap, navigate to the membership plan sales page and subscribe to the plan with a new email. If you are not sure how to get there:

  1. Click on Memberships in the Podia app menu

  2. Follow the link on View page →, which will open up your membership sales page in a new tab

  3. Click on Subscribe

  4. Enter a new email and confirm the membership plan

Once you have confirmed both the plan and the email, you should get a slack bot message delivered directly to your account. 🔥

Please note: While we’re happy to help with any issues taking place on our end, we aren’t able to access your accounts with those other tools, which limits the support we can offer. We encourage reaching out directly to the third-party tools for help getting them working.
