Podia’s community feature lets you create public posts that anyone can see: both members and non-members.

This is a great way to share community updates with people outside of your circle, as well as use them in creative ways.

How to create posts anyone can see

Posts become public (available for members and non-members) if they are assigned to a public topic.

Here’s how to make your topics public and add posts to it!

Step 1: Make sure you have at least one public topic in your community area.

You can either create a new one or edit your current topic and change its access settings.

Simply go to “All topics” and from there you can add a new public topic or edit a current one:

Step 2: Search for your topic’s access settings and select the Public option:

Now that you have at least one public topic, it is now time to create a post under this topic.

Step 3: From your home feed, click on New post.

Step 4: In the post editor you’ll be able to write up & edit your post.

Once you’re ready to publish, click on ‘Choose Topic’ and select the public topic you just set up.

Step 5: Hit Done and select if you’d like to publish the post immediately or schedule it to be released in the future!

And that’s it! If you’d like to create more public posts make sure you follow these same steps, always selecting the public topic we have configured.

Where do my public posts appear?

All of your public posts will be displayed on a dedicated /community/public feed.

If you want to access this page you can do so by visiting yoursite.com/community/public (make sure you replace yoursite.com with your actual URL)

Here’s what your public feed will look like:

What are the “Learn More” & “Join now” buttons?

The Learn More button will direct people to your community sales page.

The Join Now button will open up a checkout modal so people can join any of your public plans without leaving the page.

Can the “Learn More” and “Join Now” buttons be removed?

Both of these buttons cannot be edited or removed at this time.
