Looking to sell your upcoming webinar? 📹 You're in the right place. If you want to set up a webinar on Podia with Zoom instead, check out these steps!
From the Products page, click on “New Product”
Select “Webinar”, give your webinar a name, and click "Create & continue"
This process will feel familiar if you've used Podia to create products before. There are a couple of webinar-specific settings we'd like to point out, though.
Instructions provide a way to describe the webinar, as well as provide any relevant details/requirements for the webinar. Instructions are shown on the webinar page once a customer has purchased the webinar.
YouTube embed link
Before you can publish your webinar, you need to provide a link to your YouTube Live stream. Once you have the link, paste it here and we'll take care of displaying it to your customers.
YouTube Live gives you the ability to schedule a stream for a future time. You can provide a scheduled stream's URL. We will show the YouTube stream, but it will just show the thumbnail you selected in YouTube, as well as a countdown until the stream starts.
When you're ready to go live, simply go back to YouTube Studio (and log in if you're not already), then click the "Go live" button in the top right corner:
Click "Manage" in the sidebar:
From there, select the Live stream you created earlier and you're all set to begin!
Before you can publish your webinar, you need to set a start time and an end time. Scheduled webinar times are available in 10-minute increments. (12:00, 12:10, 12:20, etc.)
Once you've scheduled a time and added the YouTube link, you can publish your webinar. 🎉
We'll send out three reminders (that you can turn on or off) to your customers about your webinar:
- 10 minutes before the webinar starts
- When the webinar starts
- When the webinar ends
You're free to turn any (or all) of these reminders off.
Previewing the webinar
Once you're ready to see how your webinar will look during the event, scroll back to the top of the page and click "Preview," and then click "Webinar page."
Publishing the webinar
Once you're ready to sell your webinar, click "Draft" from the webinar menu and then click "Published."
Can I create paid and free webinars?
Yes, you can create both paid webinars where you charge people to get access to the webinar *and* free webinars to help build your audience.
Can I create a webinar for existing course customers or members?
Yes, but it may not be necessary. You could simply share the unlisted YouTube link directly in the course contents, as a membership post, or email broadcast. If you want to "host" it on Podia then go through the same process and hide the webinar page from your storefront.
Can I sell or give away the webinar AFTER its already happened?
Yes, we store the YouTube Live recording, so people can continue to buy (or sign up for free) to see a recording of your webinar.
If you don't want to sell or give the recording away for free, you can close enrollment just like with other products.
How do comments work?
Currently, you'll need to use the comments on YouTube directly.
