Instructions for importing your list

Head over to your Audience tab and click on Import subscribers.

It will open up a form where you should upload your .csv list as well as be specific about where you want these uploaded to.

Here are a few options:

  • General site list

  • Enroll them into specific products

  • Enroll emails into specific pre-launch lists

The CSV should contain two rows; one with their full name (first and last in a single column), and one with their email. Both columns should have a Name and Email Header at the top as well.

We’ll upload your list for you and let you know as soon as it’s done, within one business day (and usually faster).

Requirements for importing lists with more than 2,000 subscribers

Larger lists require a bit more caution with importing to protect your email deliverability, as well as that of other Podia creators.

At this time, we’re happy to import email lists up to the number of allowed monthly recipients on your account.

That means:

  • On the Mover plan, we’ll import up to 5,000 subscribers

  • On the Shaker plan, we’ll import up to 15,000 subscribers

  • On the Earthquaker plan, we’ll import up to 50,000 subscribers

We have a couple of requirements for importing lists larger than 2,000 subscribers:

  1. A link to the site (or sites) where your email collection forms live.

  2. A report from NeverBounce. Please use their list cleaning service to ensure your subscriber emails are valid.

Once we’ve received these from you (you can upload them directly via the email import request form), we’ll review them and start your import. We’ll upload your list for you and let you know as soon as it’s done, within two business days (and usually faster).


Best practices for improving email deliverability when importing a list

To ensure your emails reach your subscribers’ inboxes, we have a few tips for maximizing email deliverability:

  • Set up a custom sending domain for your emails. This is the most valuable thing you can do for long-term email deliverability.

  • Remove invalid/inactive email subscribers from your list before importing. For example, run a report of subscribers who haven’t opened an email in >9 months, and delete them from your list. This helps keep your open rates higher and spam scores lower, and signals to email services like Gmail that your emails are high-quality.

  • When you’ve imported your list to Podia, start by sending it to your most engaged subscribers first. For example, subscribers who are actively enrolled in one of your products.
