Lead magnets can be used to build your audience and convert readers to course buyers and paid members. Here's how to do it in Podia!

Lead magnet, digital download, freebies, sign-up incentive, opt-in bonus, they go by many names but they're all the same. A value driven download that encourages the reader, listener, or viewer to sign up for your email list in exchange for extra content.

There are basically two main ways to set up a lead magnet on Podia:

1. Setting up a FREE Product

2. Using a Pre-Launch Product

Setting up a FREE Product

Note: customers will need to create an account in order to download the lead magnet from your site through this process.

Step 1: Click on the Products tab on the top navigation menu.

Step 2: Click on “+ Create Product” to create a product — any product type will do - like a course or digital download.

Step 3: Add content to this product.

Step 4: Make sure the product pricing is set to 0 (zero), under the Pricing tab:

Step 5: Update the availability from Draft to Published when you're ready.

Step 6: Edit your lead magnet sales page and include all the information about your lead magnet offer in there.

Step 7: Copy the lead magnet page URL and share it with your customers!

Customers can now visit your product sales page and download the lead magnet you just created, in exchange for their email address.

Setting up a Pre-Launch Product

Using a Pre-Launch product as a lead magnet is an option if you don’t want your customers to create an account in order to download their file!

Step 1: Click on the Products tab on the top navigation menu.

Step 2: Click on “+ Create Product” to create a product — any product type will do - like a course or digital download.

Step 3: Update the availability from Draft to Pre-launch.

Step 4: Edit your lead magnet sales page and include all the information about your lead magnet offer in there.

Step 5: File delivery for your pre-launch product will be done through an email campaign.

Head over to the Email tab on the top menu and create a new Email campaign.

Step 6: Set up a name for your email campaign and choose the Pre-Launch product you have just created as your Entrance Condition

Step 7: Set the campaign to Send After 0 days.

Step 8: Write the email you want your customers to receive.

To add the file to the email, drag and drop it directly into the email text field:

When you’re done, activate the email campaign you just created!

Step 8: Copy the lead magnet page URL and share it with your customers!

Whenever your customers visit your pre-launch product page, they can enter their emails and they’ll receive the file via email, without the need to create an account! 🎉
