We've made a couple of updates to streamline how product images and descriptions are managed in Podia.

Moving forward, instead of editing your product images and product description in the Product banner section of the site editor, you’ll set these in the product editor.

This article explains the new process, but here, we will detail where the images and description came from previously.

Where did the product image come from?

The product image came from the product banner on the sales page.

If there wasn't an image in the product banner, the image in the product listing page section became the product image.

Where did the product description come from?

The product description came from the product banner on the sales page. If there wasn't a description in the product banner, the description in the product listing page section became the product description.

Does this affect the look of my storefront?

For the most part, no. There are some exceptions:

Product banners

The product banner page section displays the product image and description set in the product editor. You can customize the image or description for this section in the site editor.

Product listings

Products in the product listing page section display the product image and description set in the product editor. You can customize the image or description for this section in the site editor.

If you previously set an image or description in this page section it is still there.

It's worth noting that hiding a product in this section will now remove any customization you set.

Categories

Products in the categories page section previously displayed images and descriptions set in the product listing section. Now, products in this section display the product image and description set in the product editor.

At this time the images and descriptions for products in this category are not customizable.

Table of contents

Products in the table of contents page section for a bundle previously displayed images and descriptions set in the product listing section. Now, products in this section display the product image and description set in the product editor.

At this time the images and descriptions for products in this section are not customizable.
