Accepting payments in Podia

Step 1: Connecting Stripe and/or PayPal to your account

The first step to start accepting payments in Podia is to connect Stripe and/or PayPal accounts.

Simply go to Settings and then navigate to the Payments tab.

Then, click on Connect next to each platform to connect your Stripe and/or PayPal accounts.

Follow the steps and finish connecting your Stripe and/or PayPal accounts to Podia! ✨


Stripe: If you connect Stripe to Podia, you will be able to accept credit card payments for products, payment plans, and recurring subscriptions via community plans. You'll also be able to enable other payment methods, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.

PayPal: If you connect PayPal to Podia, your customers will be able to purchase your products through PayPal.

Step 2: Setting up your prices

After you have successfully connected a Stripe and/or PayPal account to your Podia account, you're good to start setting up a price for your products and/or community subscription plans! 🎉

Step 3: Start selling!

After you have connected Stripe/PayPal to your Podia account and set up the prices for your products/subscription plans, it is time to start selling!

All the balance from purchases made through Podia will go straight into your Stripe or PayPal accounts, depending on how the customer made the purchase.

And that's it! You're all set! 🎉


FAQ

Do you support other payment gateways other than Stripe and/or PayPal?

At this time, only Stripe and/or PayPal are supported but we are looking to support more payment gateways in the future!

With Stripe you also get to accept alternative payment methods, such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, iDEAL, SEPA Debit, etc.

Do you take any transaction fees for my sales?

If you're on a paid monthly or annual plan, Podia does not take any transaction fees for your sales!

We only take a small 8% fee for any sales made while you're on our free plan so we can keep Podia affordable for everyone. Both Podia's fee and Stripe's fee are calculated from the full price you set for the product. 💜

Please note: To keep in line with regulatory and compliance requirements, Podia is unable to collect application fees through Stripe for Brazilian-based, Indian-based or Mexican-based accounts.

On that note, accounts based in Brazil, India or Mexico are unable to set up a price for their products while on a free plan. Creators in Brazil, India or Mexico will still be able to use Podia and charge for their products on any of our paid plans.

Can I use external checkouts with Podia?

Yes! You should be able to integrate with external checkouts via Zapier.

We offer an integration with Zapier, which is a tool that helps automate processes between platforms so you could use an alternative system for your purchases and have the customer information sent directly to Podia, which would in turn give them access to the correct products!

Do you support bank transfers as a payment option?

We don't support bank transfers as payment options. However, you could accept these transfers externally and manually enroll customers into the correct products!
