This is Step 2 in our Creating and launching your community guide. Head over to the overview page to start at the beginning!

Understanding community plans

Plans are how people gain access to your community area on Podia. You can create multiple different plans, depending on what you have in mind for your community - and they can be either free or paid.

Plans can be used to accomplish multiple different setups for your community:

  • Free or limited access

  • Paid Tiers or Levels of Access

  • Access to different types of content

Note: Your members can only be enrolled in one subscription plan at a time.

If there is more than one plan they want to be a part of, consider creating a new plan that encompasses both! If they simply want to change their plans, they can do so from their dashboard.

Creating your plans

  1. From your community home page, click on Settings in the left-hand menu.

On your community's dashboard, the fourth option in the sidebar benu will be Settings.

  2. Scroll down the page until you see the Plans section. To add a new plan, click on +New plan.

On your settings page, there is a section titled Plans. To create a new plan, scroll to that section and click the New Plan button.

You will be prompted to add your details. There is a space to add the Name of the plan as well as a space to add a description. There is also an upload form to upload an image file. AIn the fourth section, you can choose your plan's pricing.

    Here, you'll be able to:

      2. Monthly and/or annual payments

      3. Option to add free trial days to your plan

  4. Under Included products, you'll have the option to search for products to include on this particular plan - this will grant free access to members of this plan.

  5. Adjust Availability settings - such as visibility and access options - for this tier.

At the bottom, you will see the settings to adjust whether your plan is open or closed, as well as visible or hidden.

  6. Click Create Plan!

Creator tip! 💡

Creating multiple plans allows you to set up different levels of subscriptions with different prices and offers.

Basic plans can contain fewer products and access to areas of your community, while more expensive plans can benefit from additional products and exclusive topics.

Why can't I change the price of my plan?

Community plan pricing is unable to be changed once saved. You will need to create a new plan in order to change plan pricing for future customers.
