Here's a step-by-step guide on how to start your blog on Podia

You can easily create a full blog on Podia and connect it with everything else you already use on the platform — your products, audience, email marketing, community, and more.

Having your store and blog in the same place makes things much smoother for your readers. When they’re ready, moving from reading your posts to becoming customers is simple and seamless.

In this getting started guide, we'll show you how to start a blog using Podia.

Creating your blog

The first step to getting your blog up and running on Podia is to create it—if you haven’t already.

Here’s how to activate the blog feature on your account:

  1. From your Podia dashboard, click on Blog in the sidebar menu.

  2. Activate the blog feature on your account by clicking on Setup blog.

  3. When you activate your blog, Podia will automatically create a few sample blog posts to help you get started.

    These are just templates, so feel free to delete them at any time if you don’t plan to use them.

And that's it! Now that your blog is created, let's take a look at how to create new blog posts.

Creating and writing blog posts

Your Blog CMS page is the home for all your blog posts. From here, you can create new posts, or edit and manage any posts you’ve already published or saved as drafts.

Here's how to create and write new blog posts:

  1. From your Blog page, click on New Post in the top-right corner.

  2. Use the text field to start writing your blog post.

    • Click on "Title" to edit the Title of your blog post.​

    • Use the text area to write your blog post. You can use our rich-text editor to add images, videos, embeds, set up heading options, etc.​

Managing your blog index page

Your blog index page is the public-facing page on your site where all of your blog posts are displayed for visitors and readers.

It works like the homepage of your blog and will be available at www.yoursite.com/blog.

You can easily customize this page to control how it looks, adjust how posts appear, and make other design changes as needed.

Here's how to view and manage your blog index page:

  1. From your Podia dashboard, click on Website in the sidebar menu.

  2. Click on the Index page to make edits to your blog index page.

  3. Click directly on the page section that displays all of your posts to open up its editing options.

  4. Use the left-hand menu to make any changes you need.

    • Content tab: Edit the text in this section, add buttons, and choose which blog post details should appear (like author name, publish date, and more).

    • Design tab: Adjust the layout, alignment, style, and colors for this section to match the look you want.

If you want to add new sections to your blog index page—like an email form—just hover your mouse over the spot where you want the section to appear, click the “+” icon, and pick the one you'd like to add from the left-hand menu.


​Sharing your blog

Now that you’ve created your blog, added some posts, and customized your blog index page, it’s time to share your blog with your audience!

Here's how to share your blog:

  1. From your Blog page, click on "..." in the top-right corner and select Share blog.

  2. From the dropdown menu, you can copy your blog link, share it directly to social media, or copy your RSS feed link.
