You can create public community posts that are visible to everyone—both members and non-members.

This is a great way to share updates or announcements with a wider audience, even if they haven’t joined your community yet.

To make a post public, simply assign it to a public topic. Once it’s connected to a public topic, anyone can view it. Let’s walk through how to set that up!

Creating a public topic

The first step when it comes to creating public posts is to create a public topic.

You can create a new topic or change the settings of an existing topic.

To create a new topic:

  1. In the sidebar menu, click on Community and select Topics.

  2. To add a new topic, click on “+ New topic.”

  3. Enter the details for your new topic

  4. Make sure the Public option is selected under Access

  5. Click Create topic to create your topic

To edit an existing topic:

  1. In the sidebar menu, click on Community and select Topics.

  2. Click on “...” next to the topic you want to edit and select “Edit topic.”

  3. Change the Access option to Public to change your topic into a public topic

  4. Save your changes

Creating posts under a public topic

Now that you have at least one public topic, it’s time to create a post within it. This will ensure your post is visible to both members and non-members.

  1. In the sidebar menu, click on Community and select New post from community page.

  2. Write and edit your post using our post editor

  3. Select the public topic you want to post it to

  4. Hit Done and select if you’d like to publish the post immediately or schedule it to be released in the future!

And that’s it! If you want to create more public posts, just follow the same steps—making sure to always select the public topic you’ve set up.

FAQ

Where do my public posts appear?

All of your public posts will be displayed on a dedicated /community/public feed.

If you want to access this page you can do so by visiting yoursite.com/community/public (make sure you replace yoursite.com with your actual URL)

Here’s what your public feed will look like:

What do the “Learn More” & “Join now” buttons do?

The Learn More button will direct people to your community sales page.

The Join Now button will open up a checkout modal so people can join any of your public plans without leaving the page.

Can the “Learn More” and “Join Now” buttons be removed?

Both of these buttons cannot be edited or removed at this time.
