Occasionally, you may want to embed a slideshow or presentation into your site or your course materials.

Luckily, using our iFramely integration, you're able to do exactly that!

Creating the embed element

Presentations and other files uploaded into Podia text sections will appear as a downloadable element.

There is no way to natively embed a displayed presentation inside Podia, but using our iFramely integration, you can use an external platform to help you accomplish your vision!

In the example below, we'll go over how to embed a presentation that is hosted created in Google Slides.

First, you'll navigate to drive.google.com and either sign-up for a new Google account, or sign into an existing one.

Next, you'll locate the folder you'd like to create your slide deck in. From there, you can either upload a presentation made in Powerpoint, or create a new presentation.

After the presentation is created or uploaded, you will open the document inside Google Drive, and click on Share.

In the pop-up, you will adjust the permissions so that anyone with the link can be a viewer of the document.

Now your presentation is ready to be embedded in Podia!

Embedding the presentation

Now that your document is uploaded into Google Drive and has the necessary permissions, we'll walk through how to display it in Podia.

Locating the URL

To embed the document in Podia, you will need to grab the direct URL. This can be found from the Share module mentioned above.

In the lower left corner of the pop-up, you can click Copy link.

This URL can be used to embed the document inside a course or on your site.

Inside a course

Use the Embed command available in the text editor's quick menu.

On your site

You can embed your file into any section that is labeled as a Text section.

Use the Embed command available in the text editor's quick menu.

The embed will first appear in the text editor.

When you save and exit the page, then reopen the page in the editor, you will see it displayed on your site page.

FAQ

My presentation is not hosted in Google Drive. Can I still embed them?

It is possible, yes! Currently, other supported presentation platforms include Speaker Deck, Slide Share, Canva, and Presentio.

Just remember that you will need to ensure proper permissions are selected, and use the direct link to the presentation as we do not support embed code at this time.

You can test whether or not the presentation will embed here: https://iframely.com/try/.

Can I control the displayed height and width of my document?

No. The embedded presentation and how it renders on your Podia site are directly controlled by the platform you are using to host it.

Why is my document showing a Google error when my customer tries to view it?

This is likely due to the permissions for the document being restricted. You will need to follow the steps outlined above to choose the correct settings.
