By default, presentations and slideshows uploaded to Podia appear as downloadable files. There isn’t a built-in way to embed a file directly on Podia.

However, using our iFramely integration, you can embed a file hosted on an external platform - such as Google Drive - into Podia.

Uploading your slideshow/presentation to an external platform

As a first step, you'll need to upload your presentation or slideshow to an external platform. In this example, we'll show you how to do it with Google Drive:

  1. Navigate to drive.google.com and either sign up for a new Google account, or sign into an existing one.

  2. Locate the folder you'd like to upload your slideshow file into. From there, you can drag and drop your file into the folder.

  3. Open the document inside Google Drive, and click on Share.

  4. In the pop-up, adjust the permissions so that anyone with the link can be a viewer of the document.

  5. Copy the link that you just generated.

Now your presentation is ready to be embedded in Podia!

Embedding the presentation

Now that your document is uploaded into Google Drive and has the necessary permissions, follow the steps below to embed it into Podia:

  1. Navigate to where you want to embed your presentation, such as your site, course lessons, blog posts, etc.

    • Only rich-text fields support embedded media. Plain text fields (like product names, titles, or subtext) do not support embedded media.

  2. Use the Embed option available in the text editor's quick menu.

  3. Paste the unique URL of the presentation you want to embed, then click Insert.

FAQs

My presentation is not hosted in Google Drive. Can I still embed them?

It is possible, yes! Currently, other supported presentation platforms include Speaker Deck, Slide Share, Canva, and Presentio.

Just remember that you will need to ensure proper permissions are selected, and use the direct link to the presentation as we do not support embed code at this time.

You can test whether or not the presentation will embed here: https://iframely.com/try/.

Can I control the displayed height and width of my document?

No. The embedded presentation and how it renders on your Podia site are directly controlled by the platform you are using to host it.

Why is my document showing a Google error when my customer tries to view it?

This is likely due to the permissions for the document being restricted. You will need to follow the steps outlined above to choose the correct settings.

My embed is not appearing on the site editor... HELP!

When you add an embed in the site editor, it will first appear only inside the text editor.

After you save and exit the page, then open it again in the editor, you’ll see it displayed on your site page.
