This is Step 2 in our Starting a blog on Podia guide. Head over to the overview page to start at the beginning!

If you already have a blog hosted on an outside platform, you can import blog posts into Podia!

Writing a blog post

Here's how to write a blog post using Podia.

  1. From your Blog CMS page, click on New post from the top right corner to create a New post. This will take you to the blog post editing page.

There is a large purple button in the top right corner of your CMS page that says New Post.

  2. Use the text field to start writing your blog post.

The text editor will show a blank space to add your post content into, as well as a spot for you to adjust the Title.

    1. Click on "Title" to edit its name.

    2. Use the text area to write your blog post. You can use our rich-text editor to add images, videos, embeds, set up heading options, etc.

The rich text editor will allow you to add images, files, embeds, and more! When you use the forward slash command, a menu will drop down that allows you to select what you'd like to add.

  3. After you're done writing your blog post, use the right-hand menu to edit your blog post details, such as post URL, SEO settings, Featured image, Excerpt & more!

On the right hand side, there is a sidebar that allows you to edit various extra details about your post.

  4. Click on Publish at the top right to have your blog post published and ready to be shared with your audience!

In the upper right corner, there is a large purple publish button.

And that's it! That's how easy creating a blog post on Podia can be! Now, let's head to step 3 to take a look at how to edit your blog's site page.
