This is Step 3 in our Starting a blog on Podia guide. Head over to the overview page to start at the beginning!

By default, your blog page is where people can see all of your blog posts. It's like the main page for your blog.

Your blog page will be located at www.yoursite.com/blog

Right now the blog page slug cannot be customized.

Customizing the blog page

You can modify your blog's main page to make it look the way you want, such as tweaking the layout, choosing colors, and deciding how your posts are displayed.

  1. From the Site builder, click on the page navigation menu, in the left upper corner.

In the site builder, the menu at the top of the page will show a hamburger menu that allows you to select the page you are editing.

  2. From the left-hand menu, click on the Blog page to be taken to the page where you will make your edits.

From the sidebar, you can select your blog page, which is automatically labeled with a book icon.

  3. To edit how your blog posts are displayed on your blog page, click on the page section to edit it.

When you click on the page section, it will open a sidebar menu that contains options for customizing the post section.

  4. Use the left-hand menu to make all the modifications you'd like.

The sidebar will have two toggles: content, and design.

    1. Use the Content tab to edit the content of this page section, add new buttons, modify the text, and select which details you want to show up for blog posts, such as author name, date, etc.

    2. Use the Design tab to change the layout, alignment, style, and colors of this page section.

  5. Optionally, if you want to add new page sections to your blog page - such as an email form - simply hover your mouse over where you want to add the section and click on the "+" icon. From there, pick the page section you'd like to add from the left-hand menu.

The sidebar will populate a list of all of the different section types that you can add to your page.

Now that your main blog page is adjusted, let's take a look at editing your blog posts page to control how blog posts will look like on your pages in step 4.
