This is Step 4 in our Starting a blog on Podia guide. Head over to the overview page to start at the beginning!
The blog posts page in your site builder is the place where you can view and modify how your blog posts will look to your visitors.
Changes you make to this page will affect all of your blog posts.
Anatomy of a blog post
By default, your blog posts page will have 3 sections:
Post heading: the section responsible for showing up details about your post's heading - such as post title, featured image, etc.
Post content: displays the created content of your post
Post comments: displays any comments on individual posts, if you have them set to be visible.
Customizing your blog post page
You can control how all of these sections look to your visitors by customizing your blog post page.
Modifying the default page sections
Access the Site builder and click on the page navigation menu, in the left upper corner.
From the left-hand menu, click on the Blog post page. This will take you to the blog post page in the Site builder.
To edit the looks of your blog posts, click on one of the sections to get started.
Use the left-hand menu to make all the modifications you'd like.
Depending on the section you're editing, you'll see different options. Toggle between the content tab and the design tab to view the available customization options.
Content tab: edit the details you want to display in your Post heading page section, or choose the blog post you'd like to preview.
Design tab: change the layout, alignment, style, and colors inside the selected section.
Adding new page sections
If you want to add new page sections before/between/after your posts' heading and content, simply hover your mouse over where you want to add the section and click on the "+" icon.
Pick the page section you'd like to add from the left-hand menu and make any adjustments to it through the options in the sidebar.
And that's it! Your blog's been made, you've written a post, and customized the look and feel of your blog and blog posts pages. Let's head to step 5 (the final step!) to learn how to share it with your audience.
