At Podia, your monthly or annual email plan is calculated based on the number of active subscribers you have.
But... What happens if you max out on subscribers? Let’s break it down!
Understanding sending limits
Podia’s email billing is based on the number of active subscribers in your account.
Only people who are actively subscribed to receive your emails are counted. Contacts marked as Not subscribed or Unconfirmed do not count toward your email limit.
To start using Podia Email, you’ll need to choose an email plan that matches the number of active subscribers on your account.
You can check all of our Podia Email plans on our pricing page.
Once your plan is selected, email sending capability will be unlocked. This means you can send unlimited emails up to your subscriber limit.
Changing and upgrading your email plan
You can change and upgrade your email plan to increase your subscriber limit at anytime (even before you hit the limit for the current plan).
To avoid unwanted charges, Podia will NOT automatically change your email subscription plan.
Changes to your email plan should be done manually.
As you approach the subscriber limit for your plan, Podia will send reminder emails indicating how close you are to hitting your current plan's limit.
To upgrade your Podia Email plan, visit your Billing Page. From there, scroll until you find Podia Email, and click on "Manage" > "Upgrade plan".
Select the plan that fits your new subscriber limit and hit "Choose plan".

Hitting the subscriber limit
As your list of active subscribers grows, you may eventually reach the subscriber limit of your current email plan.
When you hit that limit, here’s what happens:
Broadcasts and campaigns: You won’t be able to send broadcast emails or campaign emails until you upgrade your email plan.
Transactional emails: Transactional emails like purchase confirmations, failed payment notices, and webinar reminders will continue to send as usual.
You will be prompted to upgrade to the next available tier or remove active subscribers to restore email sending functionality.
Once your plan is upgraded (or once you reduce the number of active subscribers), email sending should be restored.
⚠️ Once email sending functionality is restored, make sure to re-schedule broadcasts and resume paused campaigns.
