A campaign is a series of emails that automatically sends to a subscriber when they perform a specific action (e.g. signs up for a product, joins a waitlist, etc).
But sometimes you need to pause a campaign to make changes! Let's walk through what happens to your active campaign subscribers when that campaign is paused and re-run at a later date π
Here is an example schedule of actions performed and how that would affect campaign email sending:
MY CAMPAIGN
βοΈ 0 Day: Welcome email
βοΈ 10 Days: First check-in email
βοΈ 15 Days: Second check-in email
βοΈ 20 Days: Final email
ββ
ACTIONS TAKEN
β’ January 1 (Day 0): Welcome email sent β
β’ January 5 (Day 4): Campaign is paused
βββ’ January 11 (Day 10): First check-in email should send, but does not because campaign is paused
β’ January 13 (Day 12): Campaign is set back to run. First check-in email sends out immediately at time the campaign is resumed β
β’ January 18 (Day 17): Second check-in email sends out, since this email is set to send 5 days after the First check-in email β
Please note the email will send at the time in which the campaign was resumed.
β’ January 23 (Day 22): Final email sends out β
Essentially, if a subscriber is active in a campaign that is paused, their position in the scheduling sequence will be paused as well π
