Default space settings give you more control over which spaces members automatically follow and whether they can unfollow them later.
Posts from these spaces will automatically appear in members’ home feeds and in the home feed navigation menu, making them a great option for important spaces like announcements or key updates.
Managing default space options
Here's how to manage default space options:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the Admin dashboard, click Spaces in the sidebar menu.
Click the Edit icon next to the space you'd like to edit.
Scroll down to the Default space area and check the options you'd like to enable for your space.
Available options are:
Members automatically follow this space: Turn this on to have new members automatically follow the space you’ve created. This means they’ll automatically receive notifications and see updates from this space in their home feed.
Members can unfollow the space at any time if they no longer want to receive updates.
Members cannot unfollow this space: This option is available when “Members automatically follow this space” is turned on. Checking this option prevents members from unfollowing the space.
This is useful for important spaces you want everyone to stay subscribed to.

If you've created a default space but your members are still not receiving notifications, this might be due to a caching issue.
