Setting a start date for your course and notifying your customers when it begins is a great way to keep your students updated!

In this workaround walkthrough, you’ll use section delays to create a custom email that’s triggered when your course goes live. ⬇️

Sett up an automated email on your start date

Before we get started, it's important to know that delay timing varies depending on when your students enroll.

If you set a start date for your course, delay schedules are based on that date. However, students who enroll after the start date will have delays based on their individual enrollment date instead.

Below, you'll find the step-by-step process to set up your course announcement email for the start date using section delays.

  1. Open your product editor and edit your first section

  2. Within the section editor, scroll to the delay settings.

Toggle on the option to “delay section by __ days” and set it to 0 days. This ensures that this section becomes available right at the start date.

  3. Check the box for “Send email notification to customers when available.”

Customize the message in the email editor to let students know your course is now live!

  4. Hit Save to save your changes.

Now, on your course’s start date, your course will become available, and students will receive your custom “course is live” email!
