Cancel an active community subscription

Learn how to cancel a subscription as member

Written by Rodrigo

If you need to cancel an active subscription you bought through Podia from one of our creators, here's how to do it:

  1. From your home feed, click on the site name you're part of and select Billing from the dropdown menu.

  2. From your Billing page, click Cancel plan to cancel an active community subscription.

  3. A confirmation window will appear asking if you’d like to proceed with the cancellation. If you’re sure, click Cancel to confirm.

You will still have access to the content of your subscription until the end of your current billing cycle

FAQs

Can I cancel a subscription with a creator who has since cancelled their Podia account?

If the user's site has been closed, the site is no longer accessible.

If you paid the creator through Podia, any subscriptions were canceled when the creator's account was closed.

Can I cancel a free subscription?

No, free subscriptions (or paid subscriptions you received for free by using a coupon) cannot be cancelled at this time.

You will need to reach out to the creator you purchased from and ask them to remove you from the subscription if you no longer wish to have access to it.

Why don't I see a Cancel plan button on my Billing page?

If the Cancel plan button is missing from your Billing page, it's typically for one of these two reasons:

You have free access to the plan

If the creator gave you free access to the plan, or you joined using a coupon that covered the full cost, your access isn't tied to an active paid subscription. Because there's no payment to cancel, the Cancel plan button won't appear. If you'd like to be removed from the plan, reach out to the creator directly and ask them to remove your access.

Your subscription predates a Stripe account change by the creator

If the creator disconnected or changed their Stripe account after your subscription was created, you'll no longer see the option to cancel or manage your plan from your Billing page. Your subscription remains active, but self-cancellation isn't available in this case. Contact the creator directly and ask them to cancel it on your behalf from their Admin dashboard.
