You've made the move from another platform to Podia, and now you're ready to get your customers settled in.
You can bulk import customers into products and free subscription plans with just a few clicks!

Importing customers into products and free subscription plans
Step 1: From your top navigation menu, click on Audience and choose Imports
.
Step 2: On the imports page, you'll see a list of your past imports, as well as an option to add a new import.
Click on
New import to add a new import.
Step 3: On the next page, you'll find different options based on where you want to add these people to.
If you want to add people to a product, select "Import people and give them product access".
If you want to add people to a free community plan, select "Import people and give them community access (free plans only)".
Step 4: Select the products/community plan you'll want to give people you're importing access to.
Product access
When importing into a product, make sure you select the product you want people to have access to.
You'll also see 2 additional options:
Send the usual product sign-up confirmation email: Selecting this option will trigger an email to imported people with instructions on how to set up the passwords for their accounts.
Select this option if people do not have a password set up yet and/or if you'd like to alert people they have been added to a new product.Follow my course’s section delays: If your courses have delays, you'll be able to lock these imported customers into the delay schedule you have already set up for your course.
Free community plan access
When importing into a free community plan, make sure you select the subscription plan you want people to have access to.
You'll also see 1 additional option:
Send the usual plan sign-up confirmation email: Selecting this option will trigger an email to imported people with instructions on how to set up the passwords for their accounts.
Select this option if people do not have a password set up yet and/or if you'd like to alert people they have been added to the community plan.
Step 5: If you want to add tags to these imported customers, make sure you add those to the Tags field.
Step 6: When finished, click Prepare import and upload your .csv file.

And that's it! Podia will analyze the emails you submitted and import them into your product/community plan.
FAQ
What do sign-up emails look like?
If you check the option to send a sign-up email, Podia will email people with a link so they can finish setting up their accounts and/or alerting they have been added to a new product/community plan.
For new customers, they simply need to click on the link provided in the email, set up their password, and create their account.
If they already have an account with you, they'll receive a welcome email instead with a link to log in.
These automated emails cannot be edited at this time.
What can I do if my customers have trouble setting up their passwords?
If customers are having issues finding the sign-up email or have accidentally deleted it, no worries!
You can send them to the forgot password page of your Podia site!
You can do this by sending them a link to yourdomain.com/forgot-password
Example 💡
If your Podia site is store.podia.com
Then, your forgot password link would be store.podia.com/forgot-password
Once they enter their email address, we'll send them an email to finish setting up their account.
Can I import people into paid community plans?
Right now you can only import people into free community plans.
Paid community plans require users to enter their payment information to enable Podia to charge them. Therefore, we are unable to provide free access to paid community plans by default.
However, if you wish to offer free access to a paid community plan, we recommend creating a 100% OFF coupon code and sharing it with your customers.
This way, they can redeem the coupon during the checkout process and enjoy free access to the paid community plan.
