Zapier lets you connect apps you use every day with Podia and automate workflows.
One of the workflows you can create is to automatically give people access to your community after they purchase one of your products in Podia.
Available on: Shaker plan.
A few notes before we begin...
If you would like specific products to give access to a community plan, you will need a paid Zapier account to set up filters.
The walk-through below includes a filter step, but if you would like all product purchases to give access to the Community, you can skip that step and continue with a free Zapier account π
Also note that only free subscription plans can be used with the Zapier integration, but they can be hidden from your Podia site if you don't want to make that plan public.
Setting up the "Product Signed Up For" trigger
The first step is to set up your "Product Signed Up For" Zapier trigger.
Log in to your account in Zapier.
βFrom your Zapier dashboard, click on "+ Create Zap".
βSet Podia as the Trigger App. You can search for Podia in the search bar, then click on it to continue.
βSelect the "Product Signed Up For" trigger.
βNext, you'll be prompted to sign into your Podia account. This will take you through a verification process to grant access to your Podia account to Zapier.
β
After logging into your Podia account, choose the account and click Continue.
βNext, you'll be prompted to test your trigger. Testing the trigger will pull up a related event that's occurred inside your Podia account.

Setting up filters
If you would like specific products to give access to a community plan, you will need a paid Zapier account to set up filters.
The walk-through below includes a filter step, but if you would like all product purchases to give access to the Community, you can skip that step and continue with a free Zapier account π
After completing the Trigger setup, you'll be brought to the Action setup. This is what the Zap will do once the Trigger occurs!
You will want to select the "Filter" option under "Built-in Tools".
β
This will allow you to ensure that only sign-ups from a particular product are added to the Community plan you indicate! π
βIn the filtering setup, select the Podia test data for 'Sale Product Name' in the first field.
β
βIt's okay if your test data is not the name of the product you're looking to filter, but it can be easier if it does!
β
This field is what the filter will be looking at in order to continue running the Zap as a whole.
βIn the second field, select "(Text) Exactly Matches".
βType the name of your product exactly as it appears in your Podia account in the last field.
β
Make sure to include capital letters as you have them in your Podia account.
β
This will make the filter take the product name appearing in the sale and match it to this name before proceeding with the Zap!

Setting up the "Add Someone to Your Community" action
After your Zapier Trigger is set, it is time to configure the action Zapier will take in Podia.
For this article, we'll use the "Add Someone to Community" Zapier action.
Only free subscription plans can be used with the Zapier integration, but they can be hidden from your Podia site if you don't want to make that plan public.
Under Action, select or search for Podia.
βUnder Event, select "Add Someone to Your Community".
βNext, you'll be prompted to sign into your Podia account.
βYou will select which free plan in your account you'd like the customer to be given access to after purchase, as well as their email address, First Name, Last Name and if you'd like a registration email to be sent with it..
β
All of these are available to be selected with the test data that was pulled by Zapier in the first step!
βTtest your Zap and see if it fires correctly. If all looks good, turn your Zap on and enjoy the automation magic! β¨
In operation...
Once both your trigger and action are in place, the zap will start working.
Whenever someone Signs Up For Your Product trigger is activated, Zapier will perform the Add Someone To Your Community action in Podia.
You can check all of the latest zaps on your account by clicking on Zap history.
