You've made the move from another platform to Podia, and now you're ready to get your customers settled in.
You can bulk import customers into products and community plans with just a few clicks.
Importing customers into products and community plans
Here's how to bulk import people as customers into products and community plans:
From your Podia dashboard, click on Audience and choose Imports in the sidebar menu.
On the Imports page, you'll see a list of your past imports, as well as an option to add a new import.
Click on + New import to start a new import.
On the New import page, select the access type for your import. Importing people as customers and members can be done in 2 main ways:
If you want to add people to a product, select "Import people and give them product access".
If you want to add people to a community plan, select "Import people and give them community access".
Select the products/community plan you'll want to give people you're importing access to.
Each one of the options will also give you some additional settings depending on what you're trying to do.
Product access
When importing into a product, make sure you select the product you want people to have access to.
When selecting this option, 2 additional options will show up:
Send the usual product sign-up confirmation email: Selecting this option will trigger an email to imported people with instructions on how to set up the passwords for their accounts. Select this option if people do not have a password set up yet and/or if you'd like to alert people they have been added to a new product.
Follow my course’s section delays: If your courses have delays, you'll be able to lock these imported customers into the delay schedule you have already set up for your course.
Community plan access
When importing into a community plan, make sure you select the subscription plan you want people to have access to.
When selecting this option, 1 additional options will show up:
Send the usual plan sign-up confirmation email: Selecting this option will trigger an email to imported people with instructions on how to set up the passwords for their accounts. Select this option if people do not have a password set up yet and/or if you'd like to alert people they have been added to the community plan.
When you're ready to import, click on Prepare import and upload your .csv file. Here's a step-by-step guide on importing and configuring your .csv file for import.
Podia will analyze the emails you submitted and import them into your product/community plan.

If you check the option to send a sign-up email, Podia will email people with a link so they can finish setting up their accounts and/or alerting they have been added to a new product/community plan.
For new customers, they simply need to click on the link provided in the email, set up their password, and create their account.
If they already have an account with you, they'll receive a welcome email instead with a link to log in.
These automated emails cannot be edited at this time.
What can I do if my customers have trouble setting up their passwords?

If customers are having issues finding the sign-up email or have accidentally deleted it, no worries!
You can send them to the forgot password page of your Podia site!
You can do this by sending them a link to yourdomain.com/forgot-password
Example 💡
If your Podia site is store.podia.com
Then, your forgot password link would be store.podia.com/forgot-password
Once they enter their email address, we'll send them an email to finish setting up their account.

Can I import people into paid community plans?
Yes. Members imported into paid community plans will be granted free access to it.
