Now that your affiliate program is open and your commission settings are in place, it’s time to start bringing people into it!
You can add affiliates by sending them an invite or by turning on the option that lets all existing customers join your program. This way, any customer can help promote your products.
Depending on how you want your affiliate program to work, you have basically 2 options for adding people into your program:
Invite-only: People can only join your program via an invite
Open: Any existing customer can become an affiliate
In this article, we’ll walk through the different ways to add people to your affiliate program.
Inviting affiliates
If your affiliate program is set to Open or Invite-only, you can invite people to your affiliate program directly from your Podia dashboard.
Here's how to invite affiliates:
To invite a new affiliate, click on the "Invite affiliate" button from your Affiliates page.
On the next page, enter the email address of the person you'd like to invite as an affiliate and click on "Send invite".
Invited affiliates will receive an email asking them to join your affiliate program.
Clicking on the button will take them to your site, where they'll be able to set up their accounts. Once they're all set, they'll be automatically directed to their Affiliate dashboard.
Having Customers Sign Up To Become Affiliates
If your affiliate program is set to open, any existing customer can join as an affiliate.
They’ll see the option to sign up directly from their customer dashboard and can start promoting your products right away.
Keep in mind that Podia doesn’t automatically notify customers when you activate your affiliate program, so you’ll need to share the news yourself.
You can send a broadcast email inviting them to join, or highlight the program on your product pages to encourage more people to sign up and start earning commissions.
Here's how new and existing customers can become affiliates.
Customer signs up for a product or logs in to their existing account.
Customers access the product by accessing their customer dashboard.
Customers access the Affiliate area on their customer dashboard by clicking on their avatar and selecting Affiliate.
To complete the signup process, they'll be asked to enter their PayPal email address so they can be paid.
After connecting their PayPal email address, they'll be taken to their affiliate dashboard, where they can view all of their links and start sharing to earn commissions.

Can I add people who are not my customers as affiliates?
By default, every affiliate will need to create a customer account on your site so their referrals and commissions can be tracked correctly.
However, they don’t need to purchase anything to become an affiliate.
For people who haven’t bought a product from you, you can manually invite them into your program, or create a free product they can join, just so they can get an account and become affiliates. You can read more about it here.

Affiliates have to have a customer account with you (for either a paid or free product!) before they can join your affiliate program.
The affiliate link will ask them to log in to their accounts to be able to access their affiliate dashboard.
To invite an affiliate who isn't yet a customer of yours, you will need to ask them to first create an account or sign up for a product.
