Written by Rodrigo

Creating a new post is a great way to start conversations, encourage interaction, and share what's on your mind.

In this article, you’ll learn how to create a new post.

Creating a new post

Here's how to create a new post:

  1. From your home feed, click New post.

  2. Now it’s time to create your post! Add a title and write your content.

Using the rich text editor, you can also add different types of media to your post, including videos, images, audio clips, and more.

  3. Select the space your post will be assigned to at the bottom of the post editor.

  4. When you're done, click “Post” to open publishing options:

    • Publish: publishes the post immediately

    • Schedule…: schedule it to be published in the future

    • Save as a draft: saves your post as draft so it can be edited later

    • Discard: Discards the post you've made

Once your post is published, it will either go live immediately or follow the schedule you’ve set.

It will appear in the space you selected, and all members with access to that space will be able to view it.

FAQs

Why should I schedule posts if I can publish them immediately?

If you want to build a thriving community, it's important to post content often and consistently. Podia makes this easy for you by allowing you to schedule posts.

If you're feeling inspired on a rainy Saturday, you could prepare a whole month's worth of content (or more) and have your posts published on a regular basis.

Scheduled posts will not be visible to your members until after the date you choose. date.

Will people receive an email notification after a post has been published?

It depends on their notification settings and the spaces they follow.

If they're following a space and have email notifications turned on, they'll receive notifications based on the digest they selected (Immediate/hourly/daily).

Note: You must wait for video files to process fully before posting, otherwise the email notification will display the phrase "video file" instead of displaying the video.

What are ideas for posts I can make?

If you're struggling with writer's block, here are a few ideas for your next post:

  • An update on what you've been working on

  • A "tip" you've recently learned that can help your members

  • Links or articles you've recently found useful

  • A question that your readers can answer in the comments, either to help you get inspiration for your next digital product (e.g. "what's the biggest challenge you'd like to solve this year?") or just to keep your members engaged (e.g. "Happy Friday! What's one thing you're proud of doing this week?").
