Introduction to tags
Tags are labels you can manually add to contacts to help create fixed groups of accounts.
For example, you could tag all of your subscribers with a “Newsletter” tag, as well as very important customers with a "VIP" tag.
You can add multiple tags to the same contact, meaning a person in your audience could be tagged with a “Newsletter” and a “VIP” tag at the same time!
Tags will remain on contacts until manually removed by you.
Creating new tags
The first step in getting started with tags is creating them for your Podia account.
Here's how to create tags on your Podia account:
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu and select the Tags option.
Click on “+ New tag” at the top right-hand corner of the page.
Give your new tag a name and hit “Create Tag”.
And that’s it! Your tag is now created and it's time to start tagging your people in your audience.
Adding tags to contacts
You can easily add tags to contacts in your audience. Tags are added manually by you, depending on how you want to organize or group people.

Adding tags to specific contacts
You can add tags to specific contacts in your audience by visiting their individual profile page.
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Click on a contact's name to access their profile.
From the right-hand menu on their profile, click on “Edit” within the Tags box.
Under Tags, select the tags you’d like to associate with this person. If a tag does not exist, you can create one directly from the input box. You can also add multiple tags to the same contact.
Once you’re done, hit Save to save your changes! The tags selected will now be associated with that person 😊
Adding tags to multiple contacts
You can also add tags to multiple contacts at once, making it easy to organize larger groups of people quickly. Here's how to do it:
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Select all of the accounts you’d like to tag using the checkboxes next to each one of their names.
You can also use the "Select all" option if you'd like to select all contacts or from a specific segment:
Click on the “Actions” menu button and select “Add tags”.
Select the tags you’d like to add to the people selected. If a tag does not exist, you can create one directly from the input box!
Once you’re done, hit the Save button within that window to apply to tags to the people you have selected!
Managing tags
Managing your tags in Podia is simple. You can rename tags, delete tags, and remove tags from individual contacts whenever needed.
Here's how to manage your tags.
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu and select the Tags option.
Click on “...” button next to the tag you would like to adjust to display tag management options:
Untag people - Removes the tag from all people who have been tagged with it
Rename tag - Create a new name for your tag
Delete tag - Delete the tag entirely (this action cannot be undone)

By default, tags can only be added to contacts manually. However, there is one way to automate tagging for subscribers.
If you use an email form on your Podia site, you can assign a tag to that form. Anyone who submits their information through that form will automatically receive that tag.

No — tags can only be added to customers manually on Podia. The good news is that you usually don’t need tags for most Podia features.
Because everything is built into one platform (products, email, site, community, etc.), you can easily email customers, export lists, or target product buyers without tagging them first.
This avoids the extra tagging work you’d normally need when using separate tools for hosting and email.
