Overview
Upsells are a great way to increase order value by offering customers additional products at the time of purchase.
You can add upsells to products, events and plans.
After a customer buys your main product, they’ll be shown your upsell offers — a moment when they’re often most likely to make an additional purchase. You can add one or more upsells, and they’ll appear automatically after checkout.
From the upsell page, customers can choose to add the offers they want to their purchase or simply skip them.
If customers decide to purchase more than one offer, they'll be able to review the purchase subtotal before continuing.
Offering upsells
Here's how to add upsells to your products, events, or plans:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the admin dashboard, use the sidebar menu and click:
Products, if you want to add an upsell to a product (such as an online course, download, coaching session, or bundle).
Events, if you want to add an upsell to an event.
Plans, if you want to add an upsell to a plan.
Click on the Edit icon next to the product you'd like to add upsells to.
Navigate to the Pricing tab.
Under the Upsells section, click "+ New item" to add a new upsell item to your product/event/plan.
Use the new window to select the items you’d like to offer as an upsell. You can add as many as you'd like.
After selecting your product, you can customize the upsell offer by adding a heading, a description, and even offering a discount.
Once you’re finished, just hit Create.
You can repeat this process to add as many upsell items as you’d like.
You can rearrange the order your upsell offers appear on the upsells page by dragging and dropping them while setting them up.
Customizing your upsell message
You can customize your upsell page heading message so that everything is aligned with your brand message.
Under the Heading section, modify the Title and Subtitle options to customize how these will show up when customers are on the upsells page.

Yes! You can add as many upsell items as you'd like.
Can I offer free products as upsells?
Can I offer free products as upsells?
No. Free products cannot be added as upsells.
If you want to add a free product as part of a paid product purchase, it might be better to bundle them together using a product bundle or including it in your offer through included products.

The look of the upsell page cannot be modified, but you can customize the heading and description that will be shown for your upsells, as well as the custom heading and description for each individual product.
Can customers apply a coupon to an upsell?
Can customers apply a coupon to an upsell?
No. Customers cannot apply a coupon during the upsell checkout. Any discount for an upsell must be set directly in the upsell settings.
Make sure the upsell price already reflects the discount you want. If you need to increase or adjust the discount temporarily, you can do so by editing the upsell itself.
Note: Coupons used originally for the first product purchase will not apply to the upsell product as well. The customer will only receive the upsell discount, not a layered discount of the coupon plus the upsell discount.

If a customer bought an upsell offer already, will they still see it?
No. If a customer has already bought a product you're offering as an upsell, they won't see this offer when the upsell options are presented to them.

Can I upsell a community plan to someone already on another community plan?
No, if a person is already a member of a community plan, they won’t see another paid community plan as an upsell during checkout.
Instead, they’ll need to switch plans directly through the billing page of their account.

Yes. Affiliate commissions will be generated if a customer purchases any upsells in the same session after clicking one of your affiliate’s links.
