Tags are a great way to organize your audience in meaningful groups. They help you segment people, target emails more effectively, and keep your audience tidy.
You can manually add tags to anyone in your audience to group them together, and remove tags at any time if they’re no longer needed.
In this article, we’ll walk you through how to add and remove tags for your contacts.
Note: Tags can only be manually added to accounts.
Adding tags
Adding tags to specific contacts
You can add tags to specific contacts in your audience by visiting their individual profile page.
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Click on a contact's name to access their profile.
From the right-hand menu on their profile, click on “Edit” within the Tags box.
Under Tags, select the tags you’d like to associate with this person. If a tag does not exist, you can create one directly from the input box. You can also add multiple tags to the same contact.
Once you’re done, hit Save to save your changes! The tags selected will now be associated with that person 😊
Adding tags to multiple contacts
You can also add tags to multiple contacts at once, making it easy to organize larger groups of people quickly. Here's how to do it:
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Select all of the accounts you’d like to tag using the checkboxes next to each one of their names.
You can also use the "Select all" option if you'd like to select all contacts or from a specific segment:
Click on the “Actions” menu button and select “Add tags”.
Select the tags you’d like to add to the people selected. If a tag does not exist, you can create one directly from the input box!
Once you’re done, hit the Save button within that window to apply to tags to the people you have selected!
Removing tags
Removing tags from individual contacts
You can remove tags from a specific contact by visiting their profile page. Here's how to do it:
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Click on a contact's name to access their profile.
From the right-hand menu on their profile, click on “Edit” within the Tags box.
Under Tags, select the tags you’d like to associate with this person. If a tag does not exist, you can create one directly from the input box. You can also add multiple tags to the same contact.
When you're done, hit Save to save your changes.
Removing tags from multiple contacts
You can also bulk remove tags from multiple contacts all at once. Here's how to do it:
Click on Audience in the sidebar menu.
Select all of the accounts you’d like to tag using the checkboxes next to each one of their names.
You can also use the "Select all" option if you'd like to select all contacts or from a specific segment:
Click on the “Actions” menu button and select “Remove tags”.
Click on the "x" icon next to each tag you'd like to remove.
Click on Save to save your changes.
