Zapier lets you connect apps you use every day with Podia and automate workflows.
One of the workflows you can create is to automatically remove someone from your community in Podia.
Available on: Shaker plan.
This works great if...
You are adding emails to a spreadsheet and want those members to be automatically removed from your community in Podia
Your monitor a Slack channel and want to automatically remove someone from your community in Podia if someone leaves
... and more!
In this article, we'll show you how to remove someone from your community using Zapier!
Setting up a Zapier trigger
The first step is to define your Zapier trigger. A trigger is an event within an app that starts a Zap.
The Zapier trigger can be any platform you want to connect to Podia.
Examples:
A new row is added to Google Sheets
A form is submitted through Typeform
Someone leaves a channel in Slack
Whatever you choose, this will be the event that will trigger the zap.
On your Zapier account, select the platform you want to connect to Podia and define the trigger event.
For this example, we'll use New Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets:
Follow the steps, connect your account, and define the values that will help Zapier send the correct information to Podia.
Once the connection is established, you should see a green checkmark next to the trigger, indicating things should be all set ✅
Setting up the "Remove Someone From Your Community" Zapier action
After your Zapier Trigger is set, it is time to configure the action Zapier will take in Podia.
For this article, we'll be using the "Remove Someone From Your Community" Zapier action.
Under Action, select or search for Podia.
For Event, select "Remove Someone From Your Community".
Connect your Podia account.
Under Actions, define the parameters for how you want the action to be performed.
Email: map the connected app email value to the Email field in the action configuration.
Notify customer: Define if Podia should automatically send an unsubscribe email to affected members
Cancel subscription at the end of current period: Define if Podia should cancel subscription: at the end of current period (yes), or immediately (no)
Test the integration to make sure the data was mapped correctly and review the action parameters you have set up.
For the final step, name your zap, and make sure to Publish it 🙌
In operation...
Once both a trigger and an action are in place, the zap will start working.
Whenever a trigger is activated, Zapier will perform the Remove Someone From Your Community action in Podia.
You can check all of the latest zaps on your account by clicking on Zap history.
