Understanding account statuses

Learn more about the different account statuses you can find in Podia

Written by Rodrigo

Accounts can have different statuses based on whether they’re active and have access to your site.

In this article, we’ll explain what each account status means.

Understanding account statuses

Account statuses indicate whether a contact has logged in to your site’s Home feed and whether their account is deactivated and/or anonymized.

The available Podia account statuses are:

  • Active: Contacts who have logged in to your site’s Home feed at least once.

  • Inactive: Contacts who have an account but haven’t accessed your site's Home feed yet.

    • This may include people who only subscribed to your emails or were invited to a product but haven’t completed their account registration.

    • Inactive accounts can’t access spaces, appear in the members list, or be shown as space followers.

  • Deactivated: Contacts who have left your Podia or were deactivated by you without having their profile information deleted.

    • Their profile details and previous activity, including posts and comments, are preserved.

  • Anonymized: Contacts who have left your Podia or were deactivated by you and had their profile information deleted.

    • Their personal information is no longer visible to you or your members. Previous community activity remains but appears under the name Past member.

Checking an account's status

You can view account statuses directly from your Audience page, where each contact’s current status appears next to their information.

You can also click a contact’s name to open their contact page and view their account status there.

FAQs

Some of my subscribers are marked as Inactive... Will this prevent them from receiving marketing emails?

No.

An Inactive status only means the subscriber hasn’t accessed your site’s Home feed yet.

It doesn’t affect their email subscription status or prevent them from receiving your marketing emails, as long as they remain subscribed.
