Coupon codes are a great way to offer discounts for your products and plans on Podia.

Once you have your products and/or subscription plans set up, you can easily discount these and share the coupon codes with your audience.

Understanding coupon codes

Coupons let you offer discounted pricing on your products. You can set either a fixed-amount or percentage discount for anything you sell on Podia.

You can create coupons for:

Coupons can be used directly at checkout or shared with customers through a special link.

Sharing a coupon code link with someone will also make the discounts visible on your site.

Creating a coupon code

Here's how to create a new coupon in Podia:

From your Podia dashboard, click on Sales > Coupons in the sidebar menu to get started with creating a coupon on Podia.
Click on New coupon in the upper right corner.
Fill in the details for your coupon.

Here's what you'll be able to customize for your coupon code:
- Coupon code: Give your coupon code a name. If you are using a coupon code for a public event (e.g. Black Friday sales), you can use a descriptive coupon code like BLACKFRIDAY-2020 or HALLOWEEN-50OFF.
- Discounted items: Choose whether the coupon should apply to all of your products, only to community plans, or to specific products you select.
- Discount value: Select the type and value of your discount — either a percentage (%) or a fixed amount. Percentage discounts work well across different pricing options, while fixed amount discounts are best for products with a single, static price.
- Limit uses: Choose whether you want to limit the collective total uses by everyone or not.
- Expiry: Choose whether you want the coupon to automatically expire at a specific date and time.
Once you're done, click Create coupon to finish creating your coupon code.

And that's it! Your coupon code has been created, and it's now ready to be used by your customers.

Once your coupon is created, the next step is to share it so customers know how to redeem your discount.

Customers can apply a coupon during checkout by entering it in the Discount code field and clicking Apply.

Simply share the coupon code name you created with them. Once they enter it at checkout, the discount will be applied automatically.

You can also copy a coupon link and share it with customers. This makes it easy to include the discount in emails, posts, or any clickable place.

To copy the coupon link, go to the Coupons page and click "Copy coupon link" next to the coupon you want to share.
