Zapier lets you connect apps you use every day with Podia and automate workflows.

One of the workflows you can create is to trigger an event in a different platform whenever someone gets tagged in Podia.

Available on: Mover & Shaker plans.

This works great if...

  • You want to send a message to a Slack channel whenever someone gets tagged in Podia

  • You want to add people that gets tagged in Podia to a Google Sheet for internal tracking

  • You want to send people that gets tagged in Podia to a different email marketing platform

  • ... and more!

In this article, we'll show you how to configure a new Someone Gets Tagged trigger using Zapier!

Setting up the "Someone Gets Tagged" Zapier trigger

The first step is to set up your "Someone Gets Tagged" Zapier trigger.

  1. Log in to your account in Zapier.

  2. From your Zapier dashboard, click on "+ Create Zap".

  3. Set Podia as the Trigger App. You can search for Podia in the right-hand menu, then click on it to continue.

  4. Select the "Someone Gets Tagged" trigger.

  5. Next, you'll be prompted to sign into your Podia account. This will take you through a verification process to grant access to your Podia account to Zapier.

After logging into your Podia account, choose the account and click Continue.

  6. Select if you'd like this zap to trigger for any tags or select specific tags from your account that would trigger this zap.

  7. Next, you'll be prompted to test your trigger. Testing the trigger will pull up a related event that's occurred inside your Podia account.

The sample data in Zapier may or may not pertain to a canceled subscription plan in your Podia account.

However, the data retrieved should reflect what would be sent during a subscription plan cancellation from Podia.

  8. Once you're done testing, click Continue to begin setting your Action.

Setting up a Zapier action

Once your Zapier trigger is set up, it is time to define your Zapier action.

An action is an event your Zap performs when your trigger event occurs.

The Zapier action can be any platform you want to connect to Podia.

Examples:

  • A new row is added to Google Sheets

  • A new message is sent in Slack

  • A new email is added to Mailchimp

  • ... and more!

Whatever you choose, this will be the event that your zap performs when someone gets tagged in Podia.

On your Zapier account, select the platform you want to connect to Podia and define the action.

For this example, we'll use Create Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets.

Follow the steps, connect the account from the selected platform, and map the values to help Zapier perform the right action based on the input information.

The fields you see here may vary depending on the platform and action you have selected.

Test the action, and once the connection is established, you should see a green checkmark next to the trigger, indicating things should be all set ✅

Ready to confirm the connection? Click on Publish to save and activate your zap!

In operation...

Once both a trigger and an action are in place, the zap will start working.

Whenever someone gets tagged in Podia, Zapier will perform an action on the platform you have selected.

You can check all of the latest zaps on your account by clicking on Zap history.
