Setting a time limit period for your products gives you full control over how many days a customer should have access to a specific product.
After X amount of days, customers will lose access to your product and their enrollment will show as expired.
In this article, you will learn how to automatically restrict product access to a specific amount of days.
Introduction
Podia gives you full control over how many days your customers should have access to a specific product.
By default, customers will have lifetime access to your product. If you want them to have access for a specific amount of days, you can follow the steps described in this article.
The enrollment period will begin to count based on the date they signed up for the product. If you've set a start date, the access duration should begin from that date.
Example: if your enrollment duration is 20 days, and a student enrolls on Mar 1st, they will automatically lose access to the product on Mar 21st.
Adding or changing expiry dates will only impact new customers.
Current customers won't be impacted if you modify your access duration settings or add new settings to your product.
Setting an access duration period for your products
Here's how to set up an access duration period for your products:
From your Podia dashboard, click on Products in the sidebar menu.
Click on Edit next to the product you'd like to set an access duration period for.
Navigate to the Availability tab.
Scroll down to the Limits section, and click on Edit, next to Duration to get started.
Determine the number of days customers can have access to this product.
If you've set a start date, the access duration should begin from that date.
Once you're done, hit Save.
Any changes to access you make will NOT impact the access existing customers have.
And that's it! You have now set a period of time customers will have access to your product.
How does it impact my customers?
After a product access duration period is set, customers will have access to the product for an "x" amount of days, and their access will expire after that.
If you have chosen to also display Duration on your site pages, customers will also be able to check for how many days they'd have access to your products.
Customers will be able to view when their product access will expire directly from their dashboard:
Once the duration expires for your customers, they'll lose access to the product. They'll be able to view their expired products from their dashboard as well.
An email will be automatically sent 7 days before their access expires.
This email copy cannot be edited right now.
