This setting lets you choose whether members will receive notifications for new posts by default when they follow a specific space. Members can still adjust their own notification preferences later if they’d like.
Managing default notifications for spaces
Here's how to manage default space notifications for your members:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the Admin dashboard, click Spaces in the sidebar menu.
Click the Edit icon next to the space you'd like to edit.
Under Options, change the option using the dropdown menu for the Notifications option:
New posts: Members will automatically receive notifications for new posts on this space when following it.
No posts: Members will NOT automatically receive notifications for new posts on this space when following it.
They must manually enable notifications for the space.
Hit Save to save your changes.

Yes. Changing this setting will affect existing followers of the space.
For example, if a follower was previously set to receive notifications for new posts and you change the space notification setting to No posts, they’ll stop receiving notifications for new posts in that space until they manually change their space settings again.

Notifications related to member activity — such as replies, reactions, mentions, and other interactions involving a member — remain enabled by default. Since members have chosen to interact with a post or conversation, they’ll receive notifications about activity related to that interaction by default, regardless of this setting
Members always have full control over their own notification preferences and can adjust which notifications they receive from their account settings at any time.
