Podia’s chat feature makes it easy to connect and communicate with other people.
Chat allows you to send direct messages to one or more people and have private conversations that are only visible to the participants involved.
Starting a new chat
Here's how to start a new chat with other people:
From your home feed, click Chat in the sidebar menu.
From the Chats page, click + New to start a new chat.
Type the names of the people you want to start a chat with. As their names appear in the dropdown, click on each one to add them to the same conversation.
Once you’ve selected all the members you want to chat with, click the Confirm icon to start the conversation.
This will create a new chat with everyone you added.
Once the chat has been created, type your message in the text field, then click Send to send it.
Starting a group chat
You can also start a group chat by selecting multiple people and messaging them at the same time.
This lets you have conversations with several people in one place instead of sending separate messages.
Here's how to start a group chat:
From your home feed, click on Chat in the sidebar menu.
From the Chats page, click + New to start a new chat.
Type in the name of the person you want to start a new chat with and click the name from the dropdown menu to select them.
Repeat this process to add multiple people.
Once you’ve added all of the participants, click the Confirm icon to create the chat and start the conversation.
Once the chat has been created, type your message in the text field, then click Send to send it.
Replying to an existing conversation
You can also reply to any of your existing conversations. Here's how:
From the Chats page, use the left-hand menu to locate the conversation you want to reply to and click to open it.
Use the text field to write your message. Use the available options to upload images, GIFs, links & much more.
When you're done, hit the Send button to send your message.
