Written by Rodrigo

When you're logged into your Podia creator account and attempt to view areas such as checkout, you might encounter a banner stating:
"You are in preview mode, so some actions are limited."

What does "Preview mode" mean?

This banner appears because you're accessing member-only areas while logged in as a creator. Common scenarios include:

  • Clicking the "View product" option for your products.

  • Testing the checkout process on your site.

What Does "Some Actions Are Limited" Mean?

In preview mode, certain customer actions are restricted, such as taking quizzes and making progress to get a certificate for your courses.

Will members see this banner?

No, this banner is only visible to you as the site owner when logged into your creator account.

If you see the "preview mode" message while logged in to a member account, it might be because you're using the same browser session as your admin login. To resolve this:

  • Log in as a member using a different browser.

  • Use a private or incognito window to log in as a member.

How can I experience my site as a member?

Podia lets you easily experience your account as a member from the Home Feed, which is the same view members get when they log in.

As a creator, however, you’ll have access to everything you’ve created, such as products, Spaces, and more. Members will only see what they have access to.

If you’d like to experience your account as a member, you’ll need to create a new account using a different email address. Then, use a different browser or an incognito window to log in without your Admin session affecting the experience.
