Podia's Cookie Script integration enables embedding a cookie-consent banner on your Podia site.

With this integration, you will be able to display a cookie banner on your site and customers will be able to decide which cookies they want stored on their site.

Adding a cookie consent banner to your site

Step 1

To get started, create an account with Cookie Script.

Once you're in the dashboard, click + Add website

For the website domain, add your Podia site's domain.

Once you get to Step 4, Cookies (πŸͺ Cookies!), make sure Scan my website cookies is checked.

On the final step, Banner code, click Copy global banner code. You can also get the code from the Settings tab:

Step 2

Next, go to the Site Editor. You can access this by clicking Site and selecting "Edit site".

Now, click on your page navigation menu and scroll down to the bottom, where you'll select "Site Settings".

Step 3

Look for Popups and paste that beautiful code snippet into the Cookie popup area.

Make sure to publish your website!

🚨 Step 4 🚨

We need to tell Cookie Script that some of Podia's cookies are Strictly necessary so that they won't be blocked.

WARNING: If these cookies are blocked your site will not function properly.

Go back to your Cookie Script dashboard, find your newly added site and click Edit -> Cookies.

Look for the following 3 cookies:

  • _podia_session

  • _podia_storefront_visitor_id

  • coach_visitor_id

Next to each one of these cookies is a dropdown with the value Unclassified selected. Change each dropdown to Strictly necessary and save the page.

Adding a _podia_trusted_device cookie

This cookie is used to avoid prompting account verifications on logins on devices every single time a customer tries to log in.

This means we won't be showing a "Verify your device" every single time a customer is trying to log in to their accounts.

This cookie needs to be manually added via Cookie Script.

Here are the steps you can follow:

  1. Access Cookie Script and sign in to your account.

  2. Once logged in, locate your site and click on Edit next to the domain that represents your Podia site.

  3. Head over to Cookies and click on Add new cookie.

  4. Now, simply add _podia_trusted_device cookie to your site.

Make sure to enter the information as displayed here (and leave any other fields as default):

    1. Cookie name: _podia_trusted_device

    2. Cookie domain: enter your domain here (example: demo.podia.com)

    3. Expiration time: 1 month

    4. Category: Strictly necessary

    5. Description: This cookie is used to avoid prompting account verifications on logins on devices

Once you're done, save your changes and make sure this cookie is saved and added to your account.
