Changing or disconnecting your Podia subdomain/custom domain can affect the links in emails you’ve already sent.
In this article, we’ll walk you through what happens when you update your domain and how it might impact the links included in your past emails.
Changing your Podia subdomain
If you change your Podia subdomain, any links in the emails you sent before the change — including broadcasts and campaigns — will stop working.
Any emails you send after updating your Podia subdomain will have working links, using your new domain.
How do I fix it?
At this time there aren't any workarounds to prevent this from happening. We'd recommend:
Avoid changing your Podia subdomain
Check if people are still clicking on links from previous emails. If they're not, you should be ok to change it.
Changing your custom domain
If you change your custom domain, any links in the emails you sent before the change — including broadcasts and campaigns — will stop working.
Any emails you send after updating your custom domain will have working links, using your new domain.
How do I fix it?
You can consider setting up a 301 redirect directly from your domain registrar from your old domain to the new one.
Connecting a custom domain
If you were using a Podia subdomain before and later connect a custom domain, you’re all set — the links in your previous emails will continue working without any issues.
Disconnecting a custom domain
If you disconnect your custom domain and switch back to your Podia subdomain, any links in emails you sent before the change — including broadcasts and campaigns — will stop working.
Any emails you send after updating your custom domain will have working links, using your Podia subdomain.
How do I fix it?
You can consider setting up a 301 redirect directly from your domain registrar from the custom domain you had connected on Podia to your Podia subdomain.
