If you don’t own a domain yet, you can buy one without leaving Podia and have it set up for your site. In this article, you’ll learn how to buy a custom domain through Podia.
Overview
Domains you buy through Podia are purchased through Entri and registered with IONOS. Entri handles the purchase and connects the domain to your Podia site.
Podia hosts your website, but it doesn’t own or manage your domain. IONOS handles registration, billing, renewals and domain support.
To manage your domain, such as updating payment details, changing renewal settings or editing DNS records, sign in to your IONOS account.
IONOS is the only domain registrar you can buy from in Podia. If you’d rather use another registrar, buy your domain there and connect it to Podia. See Setting up a custom domain.
Buying a custom domain
Here’s how to buy a custom domain through Podia:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the Admin dashboard, click Settings > Domain in the sidebar menu.
Click Edit next to the Custom domain option.
Click Buy or connect a domain.
From the Entri pop up, select Buy a new domain.
Enter the domain you’d like to purchase in the search field and click the search icon.
If the domain you want to purchase is taken, it’ll show as DOMAIN UNAVAILABLE, with similar options listed under it. You can filter the options by ending, such as .com or .store.
Click Add to cart or + next to the domain you’d like to buy.
You can purchase multiple domains if you'd like, but only one domain can be connected per Podia site.
When you're done, click View Cart. Check the domain and price, then click Continue to Checkout.
Review the email plan if you’d like an email address on your new domain. This step is optional.
When you’re ready, click Checkout with IONOS.
Review your order on the IONOS website and click Continue. Then enter your customer details and payment to finish the purchase through IONOS directly.
Once your purchase is complete, you'll be taken back to Podia. Your domain will be automatically connected to your Podia site. You can follow its status on the Custom domain area.

It may. The first-year price shown during checkout is often a promotional rate. The cart shows the renewal price before you check out.

Yes. Before checkout, you’ll be offered email plans from IONOS, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.

Your domain stays registered with IONOS, and you’ll keep paying for it until you cancel it there. Your site will still be available at your Podia subdomain.
