Adding a product image and description

Learn how to add an image and description to your product

Now that your product, event, or plan has been created, you can add additional details like a description and image.

These details will appear across your site and in places like the home feed, helping you and your members navigate through what you offer.

Here’s how to add or update your image and description.

Adding an image to your product

Here's how to add a featured image to your product:

  1. From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.

  2. From the admin dashboard, use the sidebar menu and click:

    • Products, if you want to update the image of a product (such as an online course, download, coaching session, or bundle).

    • Events, if you want to update the image of an event.

    • Plans, if you want to update the image of a plan.

  3. Click on the Edit icon next to the product/event/plan you'd like to update.

  4. Navigate to the Details tab.

  5. Use the Image field to upload a file from your computer or choose one from your Media Library to use as your product image.

    While product images can be uploaded in different sizes, we recommend using a 1000x1000 px image for the best display across different areas of your account.

Where is the product image used?

Your product image is used across different areas of your Podia account, such as site pages, the home feed, and the products tab.

Keep in mind that your image may appear cropped in some areas depending on the device and how it’s resized within the app.

Adding a description to your product

Here's how to add a default description to your product:

  1. From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.

  2. From the admin dashboard, use the sidebar menu and click:

    • Products, if you want to update the description of a product (such as an online course, download, coaching session, or bundle).

    • Events, if you want to update the description of an event.

    • Plans, if you want to update the description of a plan.

  3. Click on the Edit icon next to the product/event/plan you'd like to update.

  4. Navigate to the Details tab.

  5. Use the Description field to add a description to your product.

    There are a couple of things to note. Descriptions are:

    • Stored in "plain text" and does not support HTML

    • Limited to 420 characters

Where is the product description used?

Much like images, the product description is used throughout your Podia account.

We often use this description on your Podia website when displaying your product.

If you want to customize a sales page, you can add a custom product description in several sections of our Site editor, as well.
