Editing your site page settings has never been easier!
Follow these steps to update your pages' title, URL, toggle the site header visibility, and adjust metadata among other things.
Editing your page settings
Here's how to edit your site pages' settings:
From your Podia dashboard, click on Website in the sidebar menu.
Click on the Page settings icon next to the page you'd like to edit.
On the next page, use the left-hand menu to edit your page settings.
Here are all the available options you'll be able to modify for your page settings:
Title
Use the title field to edit the title of your page. You will view this name in the page selector dropdown. This name will also be used as the page title by search engines.
Link
When you create a new page, Podia automatically assigns it a unique alphanumeric URL.
You can edit this URL to make it shorter and easier for customers and visitors to access. The same process can be used to update your product URLs.
Keep in mind that each URL must be unique. It can’t already be used by another product, your community, a category, or any other page on your site. URLs can only include letters, numbers, underscores, and dashes.
If you update a page URL after it has already been shared or linked somewhere, be sure to update those links as well.
Show header
Use the toggle to hide the site header on this specific page.
This works great if you're building a landing page or would prevent visitors from navigating to other areas of your site.
Marketing
Description
You can use the optional meta description field to add a short description of your page. Search engines may use this text when showing your page in search results.
Search engines like Google typically display up to 158 characters and may cut off anything longer. This can vary depending on the search engine and the device being used.
In Podia, you can enter up to 320 characters in the meta description field. However, longer descriptions may still be shortened in search results or on social networks.
Social Image
Add a meta image, which will appear on social media when someone shares a link to your page.
The preview image should be at least 1200 × 630 pixels.
Search engine visibility
You can use the toggle to choose whether your page is visible to search engines. If it’s visible, search engines like Google can crawl the page and show it in search results.
If it’s hidden from search engines, it won’t appear in search results on platforms like Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
Finished?
When you're done editing, make sure you click on Publish from the site editor to ensure the changes you made are published.
