Why are you requesting that some members set up a profile?

Learn more about why we're requesting some members to set up a profile when they log in

Written by Rodrigo

The next time members with no names log in after you migrate to the new Podia, they’ll see a screen asking them to set up their profile.

Members without a name will be prompted to complete this step the next time they log in to their Podia account.

This includes adding a name, profile photo, short bio, and social links.

If they’ve entered any of this information before, such as their name or profile photo, it will be pre-filled with their existing details, and they can update or confirm it.

They can also choose their profile privacy settings and decide whether their profile is visible to other members.

Why is setting up a profile important?

Member profiles determine how people are identified and appear when interacting with others across your Home feed and other member areas.

Members will be asked to review and complete key profile details, including their display name, profile photo, short bio, and social links. This ensures their profile shows the information they want other members to see.

Members only need to complete this setup once, the next time they log in. After confirming their profile, they can update these details at any time from their account settings.

FAQs

What happens to existing nameless members who haven't set up a profile yet?

If a nameless member hasn’t set up their profile yet and doesn’t have a complete account (for example, if they only subscribed to your emails), their profile will be hidden from other members by default.

The next time they log in, they’ll be prompted to complete their profile and can choose whether they want it to be visible to other members.
