Podia lets you create virtual or in-person events and share them with your members.
This gives you a simple way to bring your audience together, offer live experiences, and create more direct interaction. You can use events to teach, host sessions, run workshops, or connect in real time.
In this article, we'll teach you more about events.
Events overview
Events let you schedule, promote, and sell access to live experiences, whether that's a webinar, a workshop, a Q&A session, or an in-person meetup.
Events live alongside your other products, so everything from access control to payments works the same way you're already used to.
When creating an event, you can choose between 2 main options:
Virtual event: Create an online live video event by adding YouTube Live, Zoom, Google Meet, or any link.
In-person event: Create an in-person event by specifying an address.
Events can be free or paid, just like other products on Podia.
Member experience
Published events are available to your members directly from their home feed.
If you have upcoming events, they’ll appear in the Upcoming Events card in the community highlights sidebar, showing the next events at a glance directly from your members' home feed.
For a more complete view, members can visit the Events page, where they can explore all upcoming events and see which ones they’re attending.
Events Page
The Events page gives members a more detailed view of all your upcoming events.
From there, they can browse public events, view additional details, and choose to attend events directly from the page.
When a member clicks on an event, they’ll be taken to its dedicated page, where they can view the full event description, date, and time, and whether it’s virtual or in person. From there, they can choose to attend the event as well.
If a member decides to attend an event while logged in:
For free events, they’ll automatically be added as an attendee
For paid events, they’ll go through the checkout flow to complete their purchase and registration
Members who register for an event will get access to the event instructions, along with the virtual meeting link or in-person event details.
This information is only available to people who have registered for the event.
Registered members
Members can see all the events they’ve registered for from their Events page.
From the Events page, members can see all the events they’re attending alongside their scheduled dates, making it easy to keep track of what’s coming up next.
When members click on an event they’re attending, they’ll have access to the event instructions, along with the virtual event link (such as Zoom, YouTube, or Google Meet) or the address for in-person events.
Replays
Members can view replays from past events you’ve hosted, as long as a replay has been uploaded.
If they attended an event with a replay available, they’ll see those recent event replays directly on their Events page.
Clicking a replay will take them to the event page, where they can watch the replay.
