Overview
Podia Agent includes a built-in AI model that you can use to ask questions, get guidance, and perform supported actions in your account.
You can also connect an external API key to use models from providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic directly through Podia Agent.
When you use an external model, Podia Agent’s message limits won’t apply. Instead, usage and billing will follow the limits and terms set by the external provider.

Connecting an external API key to your Podia Agent
Here's how to connect an external API key to your Podia Agent:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the Admin dashboard, click Settings > Integrations in the sidebar menu.
Click Edit next to Podia Agent keys.
Click + New key to add a new external API key for your Podia Agent.
Under Provider, use the dropdown menu to select which one you'd like to use. We support OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Gemini, and xAI.
Create or bring the API key from your external platform. The exact steps on how to create an API key will vary by provider.
Paste the API key from your external AI tool into the API key field.
Click Add to add it.
If successful, the connection will show up as connected on your Settings page.
To use a model from a connected external AI provider, open Podia Agent and click the dropdown menu next to the chat area. From there, select the model you’d like to use.

Here's how to manage external Podia Agent API connections:
