iDEAL is a Netherlands-based payment method that allows customers to complete transactions online using their bank credentials.
You can easily start accepting payments through iDEAL by connecting your Stripe account.
⚠️ Note: Stripe determines the list of supported payment methods to show each customer by evaluating the currency, payment method restrictions, and other parameters.
If iDEAL is not showing for a customer, they might be in a country/using a currency not currently supported by iDEAL.
How to enable iDEAL for your Podia account
iDEAL will be automatically available for your Podia account as soon as you connect your Stripe account to Podia.
In the sidebar menu, click on Settings. From there, navigate to the Payments tab on the menu that appears.
Click on Edit next to Payments.
Click on Connect next to the Stripe option.
Follow the steps and finish connecting your Stripe account to Podia! ✨
Once your Stripe account is connected and you start charging for your products, iDEAL should be made automatically available during checkout.

If your currency is set to Euros and a customer in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, or Luxembourg doesn’t see iDEAL as a payment option at checkout, it may be due to identity verification requirements with Stripe.
Make sure you’ve verified your identity by submitting a passport or ID card through Stripe.
Once the verification process is complete through Stripe, iDEAL should start appearing properly!
