Learn more about the home feed

Written by Rodrigo

The home feed is the first screen you and your customers will see when logging in to your Podia account.

From here, you can experience your account the same way a customer does and interact with everything happening in your account.

In this article, we’ll walk through the home feed and how it works.

Introduction

The home feed is the first page both you and your members see after logging in.

It shows all activity across your account, where you can see what’s happening, browse recent conversations, navigate to chats, products, members, and spaces, and more.

The content on the home feed is personalized for each person, based on the products and plans they’ve signed up for, the spaces they have access to, and what they’re following.

  • For creators: As a creator, the home feed shows all activity across your account. You’ll have access to every space you’ve created and can view all of your published products.

  • For members: Each member’s home feed is personalized based on the products and plans they’ve signed up for, as well as the spaces they have access to. They’ll only see content that’s available to them.

💡 As a creator, you will always see all of your products in the sidebar — even ones your customers haven't purchased. Your customers only see the products they have access to. The home feed is personalised per member, so there's no need to change any product visibility settings to restrict customer access.

The page is divided into three main areas:

  • A left sidebar for navigation

  • A main feed where posts and discussions appear

  • A right sidebar that highlights important community information

Let's take a look at each one of these areas.

Navigation menu (sidebar)

The left-hand menu is your main navigation area. It’s where you can move between different parts of your account and access key features.

At the top, you’ll see the name of the account. Below that are the main navigation options:

  • Home – Takes you back to the main activity feed.

  • Chat – Opens your direct and group chats.

  • Products – Lets you access and view the products you have access to.

  • Events - Lets you access and view upcoming events.

  • Members – Opens the member directory.

  • Spaces – Organized discussion areas based on topics (such as Announcements, General, VIP, etc.). Clicking a space shows activity from that specific space only. Next to each space, you’ll see a time indicator showing when the latest activity took place.

Main feed

The main feed is your central content area. This is where you’ll see the latest activity in your account. This feed is designed to keep everyone updated and engaged with what’s happening in your community.

It includes updates like new posts, as well as comments and activity on posts across different spaces and lessons. From there, they can expand posts, react to them, and leave comments.

At the top of the home feed, you can sort posts by:

  • Recent – Shows posts with the latest comments and/or reactions.

  • Newest – Show most recently created posts first.

  • Top – Shows posts with the most comments and reactions first.

People can also create posts directly from the home feed using the New post field.

Community highlights

The right-hand menu shows community highlights, which include important information and helpful resources.

This section helps members find useful links, see who’s active, and stay connected outside of the main feed.

It may include:

  • Discord community – If you have an external Discord community connected, it will show up on the home feed for your members.

  • Recent products – Shows a list of the 3 most recent products a member has accessed.

  • Upcoming events - Shows a list of upcoming events.

  • Top contributors – A leaderboard showing the most active members, considering their comments, reactions, and posts.

  • Links – Quick links to additional resources.

FAQs

Can I change the page my members land on after logging in?

No. The home feed is the fixed post-login destination for both you and your members and cannot be changed or redirected to a different page.

Is the home feed the same as my site's homepage?

No — these are two different things. Your site's homepage is what visitors see before they log in, and you can customise it in your site settings. The home feed is what members see after logging in, and it cannot be changed.
