Heroku: "There's nothing here yet"
If you are running into this error message, there will be a step on our end that we will need to take before being able to assist with troubleshooting.
As a first step, we'll want to have you send us a message describing your issue and a screenshot of your DNS settings so we can investigate things further.
In the message, be sure to include the following information:
Where your DNS is managed
What error message you are seeing
After we have this information, we will be able to generate a DNS record on our end that will need to be added to your DNS settings inside your domain registrar.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH
For issues that result in this error message appearing when you navigate to your custom domain, we'll need to have you take an extra step in your DNS settings by adding a few extra records.
You will need to create three CAA records. Each will have a different value, labeled below.
0 issue
"pki.goog"
0 issue
"digicert.com"
0 issue
"letsencrypt.org"
Make sure you try with the quotations around the values first (i.e. "digicert.com"
), but this requirement does vary by domain registrar and you may need to remove the quotation marks if the record cannot be saved or issue does not resolve after saving.

"Something went wrong"
The most common reason for this error is that the DNS settings are pointing to your personalized Podia subdomain instead of the generic value it needs to be pointed toward.
The generic value you will use is sites.podia.com
Example:
🚫 myschool.podia.com
🚫 mysubdomain.podia.com
🚫 marketingcourses.podia.com
✅ sites.podia.com
If this required updating, the status of your domain should update within 24 hours.
If you've ensured that this is not the issue, we would be glad to investigate further with you! Reach out to support and we'd be glad to help troubleshoot. In your message to us, be sure to include a screenshot of your DNS setup in your domain registrar and a description of the issue that you're experiencing.
